Assam begins electoral roll revision, draft rolls to be out Nov 12

Assam has started the Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls to enhance accuracy and accessibility. The draft electoral rolls will be published on November 12, followed by a period for claims and objections. Polling stations will be rationalized to ensure no elector travels more than two kilometres to vote. The final electoral rolls are scheduled for publication on January 4, 2027.
