Asian Games 2026: Suchika Tariyal wins bronze, secures India’s first-ever medal in MMA

Suchika Tariyal secured a bronze medal in the women's traditional 60kg mixed martial arts event. She lost her semifinal match to Singapore's Hui Hoon Teo in an extra round. This bronze medal increased India's medal tally to four at the continental showpiece. Tariyal had previously represented India in judo and kurash at other major games. Her bronze marks India's first medal in mixed martial arts at the Asian Games.
