Student suicides: IITs to create proper cadre for mental health professionals

Indian Institutes of Technology are planning to create a dedicated cadre of mental health professionals for campus support. This initiative aims to address ongoing concerns regarding student suicides and overall mental well-being. While counseling services have been implemented, IITs recognize that they need a more sustainable solution. The proposal is being developed in accordance with guidelines from the Rehabilitation Council of India.
