CCPA has fined Shangri-La Eros Delhi Rs 1 lakh for automatically adding a 10% service charge to restaurant bills. The regulator rejected the hotel's argument that menu disclosures and optional labels justified the practice, citing consumer protection guidelines upheld by the Delhi High Court. The hotel had refunded the complainant and stopped the levy from October 1, 2026.
