Kuende is a tech company from Romania with a focus on developing real-life experiences through its social media challenge app.

Bucharest, Romania - November 15, 2018 /MarketersMedia/ —
Kuende, the first blockchain powered social network that uses gamified challenges to reward real-life social interaction, has managed to raise over 20,000 ETH during its public sale period, nearly reaching its hard cap. Most ICOs have “Soft” and “Hard” caps for the total funds that they are looking to reach. Soft caps serve as the minimum that needs to be raised, otherwise, in most cases, all contributions are returned. Hard caps, on the other hand, are the maximum the business will raise. For the most part, hard caps aren’t always reached, but they serve to put a limit on the total number of tokens that are generated. The hard cap for Kuende is 28,980.
Kuende’s CEO Pavel Antohe looks to take on social media giants and provide the next social media for Generation Z. The app’s focus on activities and real-life experiences are ideal for those moving away from Facebook, but the question is how quickly it will be able to capitalize on its position before competitors try to pivot.
From Kuende’s website, it lists a meticulous roadmap for the remainder of 2018, a plan for the year 2019, and then also several updates including provisions for Alternative Reality (AR) in the year 2020.
In 2019, Kuende’s focus will be on integrating its Kuende Tokens and Kuende Points into the framework. Most importantly, the heavily touted Challenges feature that paves the way for incentivized meetups uses Kuende’s own cryptocurrency to create and advertise. As the business seeks to scale, it will be developing a system based on Tendermint, becoming a sort of first-mover for a social network in the COSMOS Network. For Kuende is going to be successful, this is one of the key parts, because of COSMOS interest in being a sort of “blockchain internet”. First movers almost always have the advantage, but the real important part of being a first mover is in providing something that people don’t want to move on from. Meetup is a competitor, but does not providing a workable social media app. On the other hand, Kuende’s social media in addition to incentivizing the challenges is something that could create real traction.
CEO Pavel Antohe believes that AR is the future, and so where 2019 is a key year, 2020 shows even more promise with AR-related challenges.
